Ingredients
Method
- To make the cooked apple puree, you need to peel, core, and chop a small apple and use about 1/4 apple. Chop it into small pieces, simmer in water, and cook for about 10 minutes until it's soft enough to mash it with a fork.
- Cool it under cold water.
- Then, mash it with a fork to make the puree. If you have natural apple puree at home (baby food) without added sugar or additives, you can use that one as well.
- In a bowl, mash the banana and add the Greek yogurt, peanut butter, cooled apple puree, and turmeric. Mix until smooth.
- Pour the mixture into a silicone mold or ice cube tray.
- Freeze for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- Serve 1-2 pieces at a time as a cooling, anti-inflammatory treat.
- Depending on your dog's size, you can give them more.
Notes
You can make this anti-inflammatory dog ice cream with coconut or almond yogurt for a dairy-free version, and you can also make it with cottage cheese for extra protein and calcium!
