Super easy anti-inflammatory dog ice cream recipe for joint health!
Prep Time 15 minutes
Cook Time 10 minutes
Freezing 4 hours
Total Time 4 hours 25 minutes
Servings: 9
Course: Frozen Dog Treat
Cuisine: Dog Treat

Ingredients

  • 1/2 banana mashed
  • 2 tbsp Greek yogurt
  • 1 tsp peanut butter
  • 2 tbsp cooked apple puree (1/4 apple, peeled, no seeds or skin)
  • tsp turmeric

Method

  1. To make the cooked apple puree, you need to peel, core, and chop a small apple and use about 1/4 apple. Chop it into small pieces, simmer in water, and cook for about 10 minutes until it's soft enough to mash it with a fork.
  2. Cool it under cold water.
  3. Then, mash it with a fork to make the puree. If you have natural apple puree at home (baby food) without added sugar or additives, you can use that one as well.
  4. In a bowl, mash the banana and add the Greek yogurt, peanut butter, cooled apple puree, and turmeric. Mix until smooth.
  5. Pour the mixture into a silicone mold or ice cube tray.
  6. Freeze for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  7. Serve 1-2 pieces at a time as a cooling, anti-inflammatory treat.
  8. Depending on your dog's size, you can give them more.

Notes

You can make this anti-inflammatory dog ice cream with coconut or almond yogurt for a dairy-free version, and you can also make it with cottage cheese for extra protein and calcium!
